We just had our very first Park Art Drop, a new monthly drop done in partnership with the City of Arvada. Our goal is to work with the city to highlight some of the amazing parks in our neighborhoods. Did you know that Arvada has a park within ten-minutes walking distance from every single resident? Parks offer a great source of inspiration for creation. For our first Park Art Drop, artist Emily Grace King used the trees at Independence and Fitzmorris Parks as her muse to create several texture studies, which we then hid throughout the parks. She also included a few of her Artist Trading Cards in the packets for our hunters. Along with the beautiful works from Emily, each successful hunter also got a copy of our new book, Art in Your Park: a Guidebook to Getting Creative in Your Neighborhood. The book is full of prompts to help you use your local park as a tool for creating your own art in response to the wonderful things you can find in nature!
