May First Friday Drop with Michael Morten

We had an amazing time dropping art with Michael Morten in Olde Town Arvada for May's First Friday! This was a super special drop for a couple of reasons. Michael created three designs highlighting the history of transportation in Arvada, and created a limited run of hand-screen-printed pieces (with metallic gold ink) just for Art Drop Arvada. We also celebrated First Friday with Jeffco art students, who had their work on display at many of the unique businesses throughout Olde Town.

Each of our drops had a complete matching-numbers set of Michael's limited edition prints. The streets were full, and we loved seeing so many of you out and about after you diligently hunted for art and found one of Michael's pieces. Thanks to everyone who came up to us in our bright orange Art Drop Arvada shirts to say hi!

Part of what made this drop extra special was the behind-the-scenes pictures Michael shared of his printing process. Michael documented each step and he carefully screen printed his works, and our community loved seeing how the art was made.

A few mini-hunters scored Michael's art drop and were kind enough to let us snap a picture of them when we saw they were carrying around their treasure. Thanks little friends!
